Plants can be used in special ways for Healing Magic, in spells and rituals, and to aid meditation. For instance, burning dried herbs or resins for their smoke and incense, drinking specific teas to help achieve distinct states of the mind, heart, body, or soul, and decorating an altar with fresh or dried plants, flowers, fruits, nuts or grains. Plants can be used in crafting all forms of Spirit art, such as making a mask or an elemental shield. Particular herbs can also be helpful in spell bags and protective or "lucky charms".

Herbal infused oils, highly concentrated essential oils, and fragrant balms - for magic, let's call them unguents - are used as anointing oils for people and sacred objects. Herbal waters are used in atomizers as refreshing sprays for people and places. Plants (usually dried) infused in boiled water for long periods of time can be added to bath water to create magical baths. Herbs can even be part of magical adornment, such as wearing a flower wreath at a celebration, ritual, or ceremony.

If this all sounds like something you'd love to learn more about, I am happy to invite you to my upcoming class, Herbs to Deepen Spiritual Awareness & Intuitive Wisdom. This class will be held at the Open Center in New York City on May 5, 2017. The class will be held from 7-10 p.m.

I hope to see you there. It will be a wonderful evening filled with herbs to help deepen our spiritual connections to the earth and ourselves.
