When properly prepared, some of our favorite “seasonings” are actually profound herbal medicines. Join Robin Rose as we go beyond the delight of aromatic and spicy flavors into the exciting and beneficial world of herbal medicine to discover, for example, that basil is an effective anti-depressant, ginger can relieve lower back pain when used as a bath, and rosemary tea improves memory. We will also take a short stroll to meet some medicine plants that live right in our backyards! This will be a hands-on class; tasting, touching and smelling the plants and you will make an herbal preparations to take home! Herbs are truly “the people’s medicine” and this course is likely to bring out the herbalist in you.
