The heart pumps vital nourishment throughout our bodies from the moment we’re born till our last breath. It is our physical and emotional core, where our greatest joys and cruelest pains are centered, but we tend to ignore it and not give it the attention it deserves.

In this class, we will honor our hearts by first exploring how our extraordinary cardiovascular system is designed to work, and then by exploring the remarkable plants nature provides to heal our hearts.

We’ll learn about some of the most important herbs that support the cardiovascular network and those that help with heartbreak, heartache, shock and grief, and learn how to use them effectively. These include lavender, rose, hawthorn, motherwort, linden and violet. Our evening together will include herb tasting, meditation, hands-on medicine making, and other practices to help us open and heal our hearts.

Hosted at the New York Open Center.

Friday, March 24, 7–10pm

We are growing a community of supportive, beautiful “wise women”. The world needs us now more than ever! We will gather together in a woman’s circle to meditate and continue to practice the magic of cultivating inner vision and setting an intention. Explore how the rhythms of the moon guide you to plant your vision seed, bring it to fullness, and incorporate the effects of having practiced that intention over the month. Come sip a delicious tea prepared by Robin Rose with fresh and seasonal herbs, light a candle, and experience a new sense of connection and purpose in your life. Other surprises in store! new-moon

There is nothing as empowering as making your own medicines. Crafting your own herbal preparations will save you lots of money, and you will feel healthier and happier than ever before.

In this class we will work with fresh (and some dried) herbs, making several types of tinctures (with and without alcohol), liniments, oils, infusions, vinegars, syrups, salves, decoctions, poultices, compresses, fomentations, and more! Robin Rose will share some of her favorite recipes and most effective remedies.

Herbs are magical, but preparing and using them doesn’t have to be mystifying. Come enjoy a fun, enriching experience, and then do try this at home!

Plants can help us deepen our sense of connectedness to Spirit and cultivate trust in our own inner wisdom. We’ll explore ways to use herbs such as sage, ginkgo biloba, lavender, cronewort/mugwort, cinquefoil, lobelia, roses, copal, and more—as teas, tinctures, infusions, anointing oils, ointments, smudge herbs, and baths.

Herbs can raise and deepen your consciousness and aid meditation by easing restlessness of mind and body, opening your third eye, and helping you remember and even guide your dreams, recall past lives, take potent trance journeys, and evoke healing visions. Herbs that can help create safe and sacred space will also be shared. This class will be fun, experiential, and include a consciousness-deepening tea and guided meditation. You’ll also make your own wild-harvested Artemisia smudge stick.
